Sensex ends below 36-K mark, Nifty ends above 11-K, ahead of Budget

Indian shares declined for a second consecutive session as caution prevailed into the markets ahead of the Union Budget, due tomorrow, 1 Feb 2018. The BSE Sensex fell 68.71 points to 35,965.02, while the NSE Nifty 50 index fell 21.95 points to 11,027.70, as per closing data. 

Shares Infosys, ITC, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Steel, Larsen and Toubro, Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy’s contributed mostly in the Sensex losses today, while an uptick in shares of Reliance, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank helped to cut the losses. 

Pharmaceutical shares declined to a great extent. Shares of Dabur India Ltd fell 1.17% to Rs. 354.35 after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 332 crore in the Dec 2017 quarter. The other pharma company stocks that fell include Divi's Laboratories (down 4.46%), Dr Reddy's (down 3.75%), Cipla (down 3.15%), Strides Shasun (down 2.72%), Wockhardt (down 2.52%), Sun Pharma (down 2.02%) among others. 

Shares of Bharti Infratel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries rose 0.7 to 3%. On the other hand, shares of Tata Steel, HUL, Indiabulls HF, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Coal India, HCL Tech, ITC, TCS, Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Auto, lose the most. 

In Nifty-50 constituents, late rally witnessed in the heavyweights like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and Kotak Bank. Bank Nifty index and Nifty Financial Services were the major gainers while Nifty FMCG, Pharma and Metal index were the top losers.

Sensex gains 233 points, Nifty rises 11,130, Tomorrow Stock Nifty Prediction

Equity benchmark indices ended with stellar gains as positive buying activity ahead of the Union budget on Thursday, 1 Feb 2018, buoyed the trading sentiment. The BSE Sensex surged 232.81 points to close at a record 36,283.25, while the NSE Nifty jumped 60.75 points to end at a new high of 11,130.40. 

Shares of HDFC twins, Maruti Suzuki, RIL, L&T and TCS rallied the most providing a major uplift to the Sensex. HDFC shares rose 2.66% to Rs. 1953 after the company reported a 233% surge in its net profit in Dec quarter to Rs 5670.21 crore. 

Shares of Newgen Software Technologies jumped over 3 percent to conclude at Rs 253 on Monday as the company got listed on stock exchanges today after winding up its Rs 424 crore IPO earlier in this month. 

Auto stocks zoomed higher with Eicher Motors (+3.54%), Ashok Leyland (+2.45%), Hero Moto Corp (+2.23%), TVS Motors (+2.11%), Bajaj Auto (+1.64%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (+0.75%). On the other hand, shares of Escorts and Tata Motors were down by 0.25% and 0.22% respectively. 

Major gainers emerged on NSE Nifty are Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC, United Phosphorus Ltd, Bharti Infratel, Tata Consultancy Services, Hero MotoCorp, IOC, Indiabulls, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Zee, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Sun Pharma rising 1 to 4 percent.

Indices settle flat, Nifty ends above 11,000, Metal,Telecom Stocks Fall

Key barometer indices ended almost on flat line since mixed global cues failed to give clear direction to the market. The BSE Sensex rose 21.66 points to 36,161.64. The NSE Nifty index rose 2.30 points to 11,086, as per closing data. 

State Bank of India, Adani Ports, and GAIL were the top gainers on both indices, while Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors declined the most, while IT stocks and PSU banks outperformed. SBI gained 4%, GAIL India and Tech Mahindra up by 3% each, while Airtel slipped 7% and Tata Motors, ICICI Bank fall 3% each. 

Metal stocks declined across the board with Jindal Steel & Power, Bhushan Steel, NALCO, Hindustan Copper, NMDC, SAIL India, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Hindustan Zinc and Vedanta edged lower between ranges 5.30% to 1.48%. 

Shares of Idea Cellular fell to a 30-days low after its net loss for the Oct–Dec period more than tripled, posting a net loss of over Rs 1,284 cr, for the Q3 ended 31 Dec 2017. 

State bank of India, HDFC and ITC were the top contributors which helped Nifty closes at record highs for the sixth consecutive day. IT sector was the star performing one in today’s trade with NIIT Tech up by 9.97% and Hexaware ending 7.29%.

Sensex ends at 36140, Nifty above 11,000 led by metal, PSU bank stocks

The Nifty on Tuesday settled 11-K mark, while the Sensex breached the 36-K level for the first time after an IMF report indicted India was set to regain the title as the world's fastest growing major economy in 2018-2019. 

The BSE Sensex closed higher by 341.97 points to 36,139.98, while the NSE Nifty-50 rose 117.50 points to close at 11,083.70. Both Sensex and Nifty posted record closing peaks for the fifth consecutive session as stellar earnings results boosted investor’s mood.

In Sensex pack, shares of SBI, Tata Steel, ONGC and ICICI Bank were major gainers, while Wipro, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank and Asian Paints were losers. 

Shares of ONGC continued to trade on a strong footing in today's trade and finished up by 3.7 percent after the company got approval from the govt for selling its stake in IOC & GAIL. 

On NSE constituents, Vedanta gains 5.21%, GAIL India up 4.5%, SBI up 3.93%, Hindalco rose 3.8% and Tata Steel edged up 3.73%, while Eicher Motors down 2.26%, Ambuja Cement down 2.18%, ZEEL slips 1.93%, Wipro falls 1.6% and Infratel edged lower by 1.37%

Friday Closing Update- Nifty hits 10,894 marks; Sensex surges over 250 points

Trading for the week ended Friday on a buoyant note as Sensex, Nifty settled with decent gains and kept up their record high hitting streak. The BSE Sensex rose 251.29 points at 35,511.58, while the NSE Nifty 50 index advanced 77.70 points at 10,894.70, as per closing data.

Shares of Adani Ports, Yes Bank and ICICI Bank were at the top in gains, while Infosys, Sun Pharma and Power Grid were major laggards.

Nifty Bank index carried on to support the market, rising 150 points, led by stocks of Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

BSE Bank index rose 456 points, following strong earnings from Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank. In the Sensex, shares of SBI, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank rallied by more than 2 percent each.  

Shares of ITC Ltd rose on BSE 0.37% at Rs. 273.85 after the company's net profit rose 16.75% to Rs 3090.20 crore. Shares of HCL Technologies rose 0.30% at Rs. 957.75 after company’s consolidated net income rose 0.3% to Rs 2194 crore.

Market Closing Update: Sensex 35,260, Nifty 10,800 at record close

Key indices scaled new highs on Thursday with banking stocks contributing the most to gains on hopes that the govt would increase the foreign investment limits for banks. Positive global stocks also strengthened sentiment. 

BSE Sensex closed higher by 178.47 points to 35,260.29, whereas the NSE Nifty 50 rose 28.45 points to close at 10,817. 

ITC Ltd, HDFC Bank, HDFC and Mahindra and Mahindra were top gainers, whereas Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Coal India and Sun Pharma were top losers. 

Shares of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone lost 4.5% after the company reported Q3 Dec 2017 results today. 

Metal, Realty, Power, Oil & Gas, consumer durables, healthcare, and energy were the top losers in BSE sectoral indices, while those that ended in the positive territory were bank, Finance, FMCG and IT. 

Top 5 Sensex gainers were ITC, HDFC Bank, HDFC, Mahindra and Mahindra and Kotak Bank while the major losers were Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Coal India, Sun Pharma and SBI.

Sensex ends over 70 points lower, Nifty at 10,700, Tomorrow Stock Tips

Market Update:- Key benchmark indices settled with tiny losses after registering intraday volatility with the Sensex ending over 70 points lower. Profit booking was emerged on the exchanges after indices scaled record highs yesterday. 

The BSE Sensex dropped 72.46 points at 34,771.05, and the NSE Nifty fell 41.10 points at 10,700.45. Global crude oil rally with worries over inflating trade deficit that soared to a 3-year high on rising gold & crude oil import bill weighed on the investor outlook. 

Among Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech gained the most on both indices, while Coal India, BHEL and Tata Power lost the most.

Sensex rises 34592, Nifty at 10,700; Shares of ICICI, Reliance up

India’s stock markets closed the volatile trading session with moderate gains on positive global cues. Continued rise in the shares of heavyweight such as ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki and HDFC lifted up the markets to conclude at fresh record peaks on Friday with BSE Sensex rising 34,592.39 at the close, up by 88.90 points, while NSE Nifty up by 30.05 points at 10,681.25. 

Shares of ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC, ONGC, Dr Reddy’s have gained at a tune of 2.5 percent, helping the headline indices to minimize the losses. 

Shares of Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, ITC, Adani Ports, Yes Bank, TCS, NTPC, and Bajaj Auto lost up to 1.3 percent. 

The stock of IT major Infosys rose 0.94 percent to hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1085.9 before finishing up 0.32 percent at Rs 1,079 ahead of its Q3 earnings which are expected for later today.
TCS shares fell over 0.74% on NSE after the company had yesterday posted 3.6% fall in net profit for the December quarter. Shares of Infosys rose up by 0.26% at 1,078.65 ahead of Q3 earnings, to be announced after market hours today.

Sensex closes at record high, Nifty above 10,650, IT, telecom stocks rise

Sensex, Nifty closed at record peak on Thursday ahead of release of key corporate results due this week for more direction. The BSE Sensex ended the day at 34,503.49, up 70.42 points while the NSE Nifty50 index settled the day at 10,651.20, up 19 points. 

Top gainers were Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors and Infosys Limited, while major losers were Coal India, Wipro Ltd, Axis Banks and ICICI Bank. 

Shares of IndusInd Bank fell 1.93% to Rs. 1700 following Dec quarter results. IT stocks rose. Shares of Oracle Financial Services (+1.62%), Tech Mahindra (+1.39%), HCL Tech (+0.26%) and Persistent Systems (+0.09%) edged higher. 

Shares of Tata Consultancy Services cracked 0.81% at Rs 2,784.25 ahead of the company's Q3 FY 2017 results today, 11 Jan 2018. 

Shares Infosys rose 2.4% at Rs 1,076.80. The company is scheduled to post its Q3 Dec 2017 results on Friday, 12 Jan 2018.

Market Update: Nifty at fresh record close, Sensex up 34,400; Coal India rose

The indices registered small gains in a range-bound trade on Tuesday with Positive global cues lifting investors' spirit. Sustained foreign fund inflows and bets by investors with hopes over Quarter-3 FY18 earnings and upcoming budget helped the key indices to hit its respective highs. 

The BSE Sensex closed higher by 90.40 pts to 34,443.19, while the NSE Nifty rose 13.40 pts to close at 10,637. 

Shares of state-run iron ore miner NMDC Limited plunged nearly 5 percent on Tuesday as the govt started the disinvestment at a discount of 5 percent which led the company to lost about Rs 2300 crore in the M-cap.  

Metal & mining stocks dropped which include shares of Jindal Steel & Power, Hindustan Copper, Hindalco Industries, Vedanta, JSW Steel, Nalco, SAIL India and Hindustan while Tata Steel edged higher. 

Coal India shares advanced 5.54 percent at Rs 303.80 after the company approved revision of non-coking coal prices effective from today, 9 Jan 2018. 

SBI was down 0.51% at Rs 304.10 after bank to consider approval for issuance of long-term bonds of Rs 5,000 crore. 

Top Winners & Losers: Coal India, Yes Bank, ITC and Wipro were among the top gainers in the trade while Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, Bharti Airtel, and Zee Entertainment among the laggards.

Sensex peaks at record high, Nifty at 10,623, pharma, IT stocks rise

Key indices ended on a strong note with the Sensex and the Nifty hitting record highs in early trade, tracking stability in Asian stocks. The BSE Sensex surged to a new record high at 34352.79 up 198.94 points while the NSE Nifty crossed the 10,623.60 up 64.75 points at 10,623.60 on strong gains in pharma, IT and banking stocks amid optimism over quarterly earnings by corporates.  

Shares of Coal India, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Lupin, Indiabulls HF, Tech Mahindra, BPCL and L&T stood among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index on Monday.  On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Power Grid, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and Adani Ports SEZ remained the top losers on Monday.  

Except Nifty PSU Bank index, all sectoral indices closed the day in the positive zone. OBC, Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank were the only three stocks in the PSU bank index that managed to settle in the green on Monday.  

Information technology stocks were mostly higher. Infosys spiked 1.97%, Tech Mahindra rose 1.42%, Tata consultancy service went up 1.06% and Wipro edged higher by 0.61%, whereas shares of Oracle Fin Services Software slipped 0.07% and HCL Technologies edged down 0.32%. 

Engineering & construction equipment major Larson & Toubro rose 1.71% at Rs 1,337, with the stock hitting record high in intraday, after the company announced that its construction arm has secured orders worth Rs 2,265 crore.

Sensex, Nifty close at record highs, Telecom stocks surge, Nifty Prediction Tomorrow

Key Benchmark indices Sensex & Nifty touched record highs after scaling record peak levels in intraday trade, tracking the global equity strength on the back of strong economic data. Investors were on watchful for December quarter earnings, and forthcoming Union Budget for further cues, while Asian markets climbed closer to record levels on Friday. 

Shares Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance and IndusInd Bank emerged as the major gainers with Yes Bank rising above 6.5 percent intraday on Friday. 

Nifty moves at fresh life time high and closed above the 10,550 mark. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 184.21 points, or 0.54%, to 34,153.85, while the Nifty 50 rose 56.45 points, or 0.54%, to 10,561.25. Shares of Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, TCS, Wipro and Infosys were lower to some extent on strong rupee. 

Except the Nifty PSU Bank index, all the other sectoral indices closed with smart gains. Nifty Media index led the up-move followed by PSU banks. Oriental Bank of Commerce and Canara Bank were the two PSU bank stocks that managed to settle in the green. 

Nifty Bank Index spiked as RBI may give additional dividend FY 2018. In the Nifty-50 shares, YES Bank, Adani Ports SEZ, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Dr Reddy’s, Lupin, Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, HDFC, TCS and Indiabulls Housing Finance emerged as the top gainers.

Market Closed : Sensex, Nifty end near flat line; Nifty Metal index spikes 1.5%

Sensex, Nifty ended the volatile trading session, Wednesday, on a flat note as investors carried on profit bookings following strong gains in equities in 2017. The BSE Sensex, fell 18.88 points or 0.06% to 33,793.38,. The NSE Nifty 50 index rose 1 point or 0.01% to 10,443.20. 

Domestic investors are waiting for corporate results, those of TCS Ltd and Infosys Ltd that are lined up next week. This earnings season will be on high expectation is that impact of demonetization and GST would have been completely absorbed. 

Stocks of metal companies gained with the Nifty Metal index spiked 1.5 per cent, leading the sectoral indices, backed by strong outlook for the sector amid solid global commodity prices. 

Top five Sensex gainers includes Adani Ports, L&T, ICICI Bank, YES Bank and HUL, while the major losers were Dr Reddy's, Wipro, ONGC, Bajaj Auto and Maruti. Shares of Special Economic Zone and Adani Ports, up 2.6%.The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.5%, led by shares of Dr. Reddy's, which were down 2.9%, a vertical fall on the Nifty50.

Sensex, Nifty close flat; Bharti Airtel, SBI major losers, Tomorrow Stock Tips

Key indices ended almost flat on Tuesday after a volatile trading session since caution prevailed ahead of corporate results expected to release this month, while oil retailers such as HPCL fell after crude prices strengthened. BSE Sensex closed little changed at 33,812.26, down 0.49 point, while the NSE Nifty 50 ended at 10,442.20, up 6.65 points, or 0.06 percent. 

Engineering & construction major Larsen and Toubra (L&T) fell 0.88 percent after the company announced today, that its construction arm, L&T Construction, bagged orders worth Rs 1,454 crore. 

State-run Coal India Ltd rose 1.35 percent as it announced that on provisional basis, the company and its subsidiary arm achieved production of 93% of targeted production at 54.63 million tonnes in Dec 2017. 

Most auto stocks rose. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) gained 1.23% after the company reported that total tractor sales rose 30 percent to 18,288 units in Dec 2017. However shares of Maruti Suzuki India, Eicher Motors and Escorts declined.
Top Sensex gainers include Tata Motors, ONGC, Coal India, NTPC and IndusInd Bank while the major losers were Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, L&T, Maruti Suzuki and Adani Ports.

Sensex falls over 240 pts; Nifty down 95 pts at 10435.50

Closed Market- Sensex, Nifty shut the first trading session of 2018 near day’s low accompanied by a sharp sell-off in the end hour of trades. Selling pressure in auto stocks, IT, among others, led to a plunge in Indian market, with the BSE Sensex down 244.08 points at 33,812.75, while the NSE Nifty slipped by 95.20 points at 10435.50. Auto stocks nose-dived. 

The auto index such as Ashok Leyland (-0.5%), M&M (-1.07%), Tata Motors (-1.25%), Hero MotoCorp (-0.59%), Bajaj Auto (-0.76%) and Eicher Motors LImited (-1.16%) edged lower. 

Top gains catch by BHEL, Coal India Ltd, Tata Power Ltd and Indiabulls HF, while major losers include IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Infratel. 

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) dropped 1.4% at Rs 1,349, while housing finance major HDFC declined 0.94% at Rs 1,694.35. Telecom Stocks declined, which include Idea Cellular (-2.87%), Reliance Communications (-2.54%), Bharti Infratel (-2.07%) and Bharti Airtel (-0.17%). 

Except the Nifty realty, Nifty media and pharma index all the other sectoral indices ended with losses. Nifty Bank and Auto indices were the top losers followed by IT and FMCG index.
